Anna is a local attorney and proud mother of a toddler. She became involved in political volunteering as a middle school student, phone-banking and canvassing for local candidates on Chicago’s south side. Since her arrival in California in the mid-1990s, Anna has volunteered for numerous Democratic candidates and on behalf of progressive issues. Upon moving to Sacramento, Anna volunteered to start the DPSC’s Neighborhood Leader Program. Anna has raised funds and volunteered for many Sacramento candidates and served as an adviser and treasurer on local campaigns.
Anna was proud to serve the 2009-2010 term as the chair of the DPSC. She is currently a commissioner on the Sacramento City Planning Commission. Anna is a founding member of Democracy Action, a political action committee that was dedicated to aiding progressive state and national politicians and issues through action and not meetings. Anna is also a graduate of the Emerge candidate training program (Emerge: Women Leaders for a Democratic Future) (www.emergeca.org). Anna currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Sacramento Choral Society & Orchestra (www.sacramentochoral.com).
