Evan Hawkins joined the Democratic Party of Sacramento County in February 2009 as the Executive Director. He has managed and coordinated local campaigns in Sacramento County and also worked as an intern in Assembly Member Dave Jones’ district office. Evan recently graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, where he studied media and policy. He took a particular interest in how new social media can be used in the political arena as a tool for coordination, outreach and effective communication.

While at Cal, Evan was a teacher for a program that provided free SAT preparation courses for schools in the East Bay Area. He also worked for the Boys and Girls Club while attending community college. Evan enjoys playing basketball, taking his dog to the river and hiking in the American River Canyon.

Evan strongly believes in the progressive goals of the party and is looking forward to serving the Sacramento County Democratic Party.
