Mike is a Bridge Engineer with the State of California. He began his experience in Democratic politics when he became an officer in his union, Professional Engineers in California Government (PECG), of which he eventually became the local President where he worked to activate the local members to participate in the Democratic Party. He is still very active in PECG and is still working as a Bridge Engineer. Other political activities include a term as the Political Action Committee Chair and (later) Vice President of the Stonewall Democratic Club of Greater Sacramento.

Mike ran for the Strategic Development Committee (SDC) Chair because he believes there are tremendous opportunities to develop the DPSC both internally and externally. These opportunities are now (with the help of the ODC members and the other committees) being put into action.

Mike has been with his partner for over 12 years and was just married in June 2008. Together, they spend most of their time walking their two dogs, Ruff & Bark.
