What’s the Significance of Resolutions and the Platform?
Our party platform and policy resolutions are statements of principles, goals, and policy positions that we advocate for as Democrats. They define what we broadly agree upon as members of the Democratic Party and help us communicate to voters what we stand for as Democrats.
How Can I Request DPSC to Take a Policy Position?
A DPSC member can submit a proposed resolution to our Policy and Legislation Committee here. Resolutions proposed by members of the public who are not a DPSC member will not be considered. Questions should be directed to policy@sacdems.org.
Our Platform
There are multiple party platforms, including the national platform adopted every 4 years during the Democratic National Convention, the state platform adopted every 2 years during the State Convention, and our local platform.
Our current local platform includes planks on the issues of homelessness, housing, education, and local government. Other issue planks will be added on a rolling basis.
