What does the Executive Board do? The Executive Board implements and executes the policies of the Central Committee, pursuant to DPSC Bylaws and our Transparency Policy. How are the members of the Executive Board chosen? Each January after a statewide general election at the beginning of each two-year term of the Central Committee, our county party holds an organizational meeting. At this meeting, any eligible voting member may run to be elected by the members of the Central Committee to serve as an officer of the Executive Board. These officers have specific areas of responsibility and, together, oversee the management of our county party. No person elected to public office may serve on the Executive Board. When does the Executive Board meet? The Executive Board meets on the Tuesday of the week before the Central Committee meeting at 6 PM over Zoom. Who are the officers on the Executive Board? The Executive Board is made up seven elected officer positions: Chair – Tracie Stafford
- Serves as chief executive officer of the Central Committee;
- Presides and governs at each Central Committee and Executive Board meeting;
- Executes the policies of the Central Committee and Executive Board;
- Manages and employs persons as authorized by the Central Committee and Executive Board;
- Serves as an ex officio member with a vote on each committee;
- Appoints committee members
- Serves as official spokesperson of the Central Committee;
- Approves all public documents, correspondence and communications on behalf of the Central Committee;
- Signs and administers all contracts on behalf of the Central Committee.
Vice Chair – Katie Hanzlik
- Presides and governs in the absence of the Chair;
- Performs other duties at the direction of the Chair;
- Assists in the execution of the policies of the Central Committee and Executive Board;
- Assumes the office of Chair upon vacancy of the Chair.
Secretary – Manuel Buenrostro
- Assists in the execution of the policies of the Central Committee and Executive Board;
- Prepares, keeps, and distributes Minutes of Central Committee and Executive Board meetings;
- Prepares and distributes agenda mailings for Central Committee and Executive Board meetings;
- Maintains Central Committee and Executive Board rosters and attendance records;
- Maintains and keeps Democratic Club charters and related documents;
- Maintains the Central Committee and Executive Board calendar;
- Prepares, maintains, and keeps all membership and other Central Committee and Executive Board records;
- Receive and handle Central Committee correspondence.
Controller – Belinda Beeks
- Issues all checks in payment of accounts authorized by the annual budget & develops policies & procedures, subject to approval by the E-Board, for management of checks & other financial instruments by any hired agents of the Central Committee, including the Executive Director and Treasurer;
- Supervises the Treasurer appointed in consultation with the Chair;
- Renders and maintains a written accurate account of all Central Committee moneys received and disbursed;
- Chairs and presides over the Finance Committee;
- Develops and maintains the annual budget and reports the financial status of the Central Committee at each Central Committee meeting;
- Prepares & keeps a current inventory of all properties owned by the Committee;
- Surrenders all Central Committee books, records, & moneys to the Central Committee immediately upon conclusion of the term of office;
- Complies with all finance and financial reporting laws;
- Maintains generally accepted accounting principles at all times;
- Receives all moneys and gifts belonging to the Central Committee, giving proper receipt for same.
Campaign Services Director – (Vacant)
- Chair and preside over the Campaign Services Committee;
- Assist in Democratic campaign efforts;
- Perform other duties as directed by the Chair, Central Committee, and Executive Board.
Fundraising Director – Daniel Weitzman
- Chairs and presides over the Fundraising Committee;
- Maintains the financial well-being of the Central Committee, including but not limited to, consulting with the Controller in development of the annual budget and meeting projected revenues as provided for in the annual budget;
- Is responsible for fundraising;
- Keeps an inventory of sponsors;
- Surrenders all Central Committee information and property upon the conclusion of the term of office.
Communications Director – Paco Torres
- Chairs and presides over the Communications Committee;
- Assists the Central Committee in its communications;
- Assists in promoting the Democratic Party and its positions;
- Is responsible for the DPSC’s newsletter, press releases, website, and social media.
